Vancouver, April 2012 – 5th National Conference on Adolescents and Adults with FASD: It's a Matter of Justice

The Interprofessional Continuing Education department of UBC hosts this conference to discuss the latest research findings, and the essential elements for social justice as they relate to the older population of individuals with FASD. Do we adequately address needs and rights of adolescents and adults with FASD within our society? Do individuals with FASD have timely and appropriate access to health care, housing, social services, legal and civil justice and employment? How can we build on the strengths of existing systems and address the barriers to provide effective ethical support?

FASD Communities of Practice

The Alberta Center for Child, Family and Community Research (The Center) is an innovative resourcethat mobilizes research evidence into policy. Because children and their families in Alberta share
fundamental needs with children living elsewhere, our research has relevancy and impact that extendsoutside of Alberta, thus making The Center an innovative nexus for the most important issues for
children.View the Communities of Practice presentation from November 30th and download the Advancing the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Research Agenda A Compendium of Research and Knowledge Mobilization Project Summaries at www.research4children.com/admin/contentx/default.cfm
